John's Gate Gourmet Bed and Breakfast  

John's Gate is an elegant pre-Victorian style home, custom built in 1999. It has a spacious wrap-around porch, where guests have their early morning tea and coffee, or enjoy a glass of wine on a warm summer night after the theatre. When you enter John's Gate through the guest's private entrance, you can relax in our very 'warmly decorated' parlour which has a fire-place, T.V., telephone and a bar-fridge.

We have a separate dining room for guests and offer a three course gourmet breakfast!

We are centrally located and accessible to theatres, fine and family dining, boutique shopping, antique shops, golf courses, nurseries, wineries and the breath taking drive along the Niagara River to Niagara Falls, horticultural gardens, Casino Niagara, Fallview Casino and many other attractions.

Driving Directions: Our home is centrally located, just off the main road into Niagara-on-the-Lake. We are 1 km to the downtown Queen Street shopping strip and theatres - just a 7 minute walk. Walking distance to boutique shopping, antique shops, theatres, golf course, parks, nature walking and biking trails, fine/family dining and Niagara's famous wineries and historic sightseeing.

DIRECTIONS FROM QEW to JOHN'S GATE
Exit the QEW at 38B for Highway 55 (Niagara Stone Road). Drive to the end of the road where you will come to a T junction - about 1.5 kms. Turn left onto York Road (Regional road 81). Turn right onto Airport Road just past the Automotive Warehouse. Airport Road will bring you to Hwy. 55 (also known as Niagara Stone Road). Turn right onto Hwy 55. Drive through the town of Virgil. You will pass the new Jackson Triggs Winery on the right and Shopper's Drug Mart on the left. Then you will come to JOHN STREET on the right (Landmark: Niagara Auto Detailing sign). Turn right onto John Street and cross over Simcoe Street. At the next street, which is Gate Street, is John's Gate Bed and Breakfast. Turn left onto the driveway just before Gate Street. Please park in one of the three parking spots.

DIRECTIONS FROM I190N to JOHN'S GATE BED AND BREAKFAST
From USA: Enter Canada at the Lewiston Bridge onto Highway 405. After about 2 miles take the Stanley Road exit. Follow the signs to Niagara-on-the-Lake along Portage Road to the traffic circle, onto the Niagara Parkway. Keep driving till you see Kurtz Orchards on your left side. The first left after Kurtz Orchards is John Street (Landmark: River Bend Inn). Turn left onto John Street and keep going till you come to Gate Street, 4th intersection. John's Gate is located at John and Gate Streets. Cross over Gate Street and turn right onto the gravel driveway.
If you take the Fort Erie bridge along the QEW, take exit 38 for Highway 55 (Niagara Stone Road). Drive to the end of the road to a T junction - about 1.5 kms. DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO AIRPORT TO JOHN'S GATE
There are three Terminals.The roads tend to direct you by direction North South etc. rather than destination or town. It is important to get into the correct lane. Very often the right lane has to turn right at the junction or turn off the highway! Coming out of the Airport follow signs for 401 South & West, then 401 West.
After about ten minutes follow the sign for Hamilton & QEW (Forking right) (The main road to Niagara is called the Queen Elizabeth highway - hence QEW). You should now be on the road numbered 403. Keep following signs for Hamilton for about 20 minutes and you should join the QEW near the Ford Motor Works (large complex on your left).
About 20 kms from here you must bear left in order to follow QEW Niagara. Get into the left lane, before exit #100 (otherwise you will be on your way to London Ontario) and take the left lane onto QEW Niagara. Exit the QEW at 38B for Highway 55 (Niagara Stone Road)
