The village of Godmanstone is at the head of the valley and is only ten minutes from the county town of Dorchester, renowned for its museums, country lifestyle shops and historic tea rooms, a county much loved & inhabited by the writer & poet Thomas Hardy. Dorchester and the surrounding area of Dorset offer a wide range of activities with ample golf courses, sea/game/course fishing, shooting, walking, bird watching, horse riding and it's situated only ten miles from the award winning sandy beach at Weymouth, where there are all the seaside facilities to enjoy, alternatively take a stroll along one of our Jurassic coastal paths.
