You are invited to visit the home of Mike and Margaret Rochester, located some 95 miles north west of Inverness on the west coast of Scotland, near the fishing village of Lochinver in the Assynt wilderness. We have a family room (2 single beds and a pair of bunk beds) available for Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Suited best to couples (with or without young children), or groups of friends travelling together... We hope that you will come and share our home with us for a while!
This is a unique energy-efficient house in an outstanding location enjoying panoramic mountain views to the east and south. The interior is open plan. Guests have a private shower room / toilet ... we provide towelling robes which may also be used when using the sauna / hot-tub.

The house is wheelchair accessible and the ground floor uninterrupted and level ... but the shower-room and bedroom would require an ability to move on sticks or a frame. The design is perhaps not ideally suited to very small children ... please see the web site for guidance and/or contact us for advice.

We are located on the B869 minor road about half a mile from the village where you will find two general stores and several establishments selling evening meals ranging from basic and wholesome to Cordon Bleu.

We are sorry but we do not accept lone travellers or the under 5's.

Driving Directions: Approaching Lochinver on A835 take B869 signed toward Stoer, we are the first house on the right, clearly visible wooden building. The single track road north to Kylestrome is not for the faint-hearted and to be avoided at night.

Local Area Attractions: Sea, Coast, Mountains, Lochs(lakes), Neolithic remains, Wildlife, Astounding scenery, Fishing, Great Starscapes (minimal sky-glow), True wilderness hiking (not for beginners or the faint hearted) but plenty of easy walks too including some for all-abilities / disabled ... we will email you our "Where to go, What to see" information sheet on request.

Onsite Activities: Outdoor wood-fired sauna, Outdoor hot-tub with mountain view. Elevated deck with mountain views. Internet by arrangement (not wi-fi)
