Lincoln Hotel  

Tucked in the junction of Old Lincoln and Herbert Hoover highways lies one of the few remaining original Lincoln Highway Hotels. Fully restored, in 1995 we won the Best Restoration in Iowa from the Historic Preservation Alliance. You will enjoy charming hotel suites with queen size pillow-tops and private baths. The rooms are all furnished with an eclectic mix and each features a sliegh bed. Two of the suites have kitchen facilities. Rooms are available with or without the gourmet breakfast.
The building is a stucco-clad Prairie style that made it very modern in it's time. The front lobby features the original open stair case. The back lobby features another open staircase and interesting window treatment. The renovation provides fire walls between the suites which will also provide our guests with added privacy not always available in an historic building. The front porch features a swing just as it did years ago.
Situated in rural Iowa, our guests find themselves in a quiet place, away from the "busyness" of the city. There are many day-trip destinations availble to you on black top highways that span the country side that made Grant Wood famous.

Breakfast: Your full gourmet breakfast features home-baked breads, seasonal fruits or compotes, savory quiches, eggs benedict or other gourmet fare. We try to use locally produced organic ingredients when possible.

Driving Directions: From Interstate 80: Take Exit 271 (from the West) or 277(from the East) North to Y-14. Take Y-14 north through Bennett and on to Lowden. Cross Hwy 30 into Lowden and the hotel is located on Main Street. From Highway 61: Exit in De Witt on Highwy 30 West. Continue to Lowden. Take a right at the flashing yellow light, come into Lowden and the hotel is located on Main Street. From I-380: Take Exit 16 in Cedar Rapids east on Hwy 30. Travel to Lowden and take a left at the flashing yellow light. The hotel is located on Main Street.
