Circa 1900. The home is built in the Edwardian style and features an art nouveau decor. Relax by the fire, on the patio, or the wraparound porch. Enjoy afternoon tea and admire the hundreds of clematis that surround the grounds from early spring to fall. The Innkeeper continues to propagate clematis vines which have been grown on the property since 1894. Guest bedrooms are named for the flowering vines and painted to reflect the matching color. Stay in Mrs. Cholmondeley, a pale blue queen-bed room, with a restored clawfoot tub in the adjoining private bathroom. Personal toiletries, hair dryer, and terry cloth robes are provided during your stay. Savor a healthy, organic vegetarian breakfast in bed, in the dining room or solarium. Fresh-squeezed juice, just-ground organic coffee, herbal and regular teas, organic granola and organic yogurt are accompanied by a traditional fare; such as, popover pancakes with fruit filling, fresh strawberries with kiwi and mango slices, fabulours bran muffins or blueberry coffee cake. No refined sugars, no processed foods, organic products and special dietary meals. |
