Captain’s Table B & B offers free tours and pickup & dropoff service from the ferry terminal at Blubber Bay and also the island’s airport. There are no major predators such as bears, cougars or poisonous snakes, so you can safely enjoy Texada Island’s varied outdoor experiences such as boating, hiking, golf, cycling, sailing, bird watching, swimming, fishing, beachcombing, kayaking, canoeing, and much more. Driving Directions: IF YOU ARE MOORED at Sturt (Marble) Bay - just walk a short block up the hill. You will see our sign welcoming you on the left hand side of the road. FROM BLUBBER BAY FERRY TERMINAL: Maps of Texada Island are usually available at the Manyana Shop Information Centre in Blubber Bay, just up the hill from the ferry on the left side of the road. When you get off the ferry travel the road 9 km to the Intersection for Van Anda and Gillies Bay. Turn left for Van Anda. Follow the road down the hill and go left at the Y in the road and then right in front of the Powell River Credit Union. Drive past the Main St. intersection a short distance and turn left on Sturt Bay Road. We are at the bottom of the hill on the right side. Look for our sign. FROM VANCOUVER ISLAND: Take the Comox ferry to Powell River then take the ferry from the same terminal to Blubber Bay on Texada. Make sure you get into the lineup for Texada and not Comox. FROM VANCOUVER/LOWERMAINLAND: If you leave Horseshoe Bay on the first ferry in the morning you will arrive at our B & B around 1:30 in the afternoon.Take the Horseshoe Bay ferry to Langdale. Crossing time is 40 mins. Drive to Earl's Cove (takes about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours driving- this is the longest stretch of the journey) and line up for the ferry to Saltery Bay. Crossing time is 50 mins. Drive to Powell River (about half an hour) and take the ferry from there to Texada Island ferry terminal at Blubber Bay. Crossing time is 35 mins. The drive to Captain's Table bed & breakfast takes about 10 mins. Directions from the terminal at Blubber Bay are at the top of this page.
