Based near Knockmore in County Mayo, this family Bed and Breakfast offers comfortable accomodation along with a friendly atmosphere.
Orchard Lodge is a warm, friendly home (log fires and tea and home made cakes on arrival)with a large garden on a scenic route between Pontoon and Ballina. We are located adjacent to an equestrian centre. Orchard Lodge is ideal for fishermen situated between the beautiful Lough Conn and the world famous salmon fishing River Moy. We have the sea, sea cliffs, rivers, lakes and mountains all within a 35mile radius. The scenery is beautiful. There are dolphins in the bay about 14 miles away at Enniscrone. We have an archery centre, 3 miles away and a Falcon and eagle centre about 28 miles away through a lovely mountain pass. 15 miles away is the National Muesem of Country Life which gives wonderful Information on the Ireland of old in the rural setting. At night, traditional Irish music in town with good food.
We were joint winner of the Family Homes of Ireland for 2007 and runner up in 2006.

Breakfast: A full breakfast is served Menu breakfast to suit all tastes, Irish breakfast or vegatarian, starter consists of a variety of cereals, fruit salad and yoghut followed by a fry, ommelette, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or smoked haddock and poached eggs, etc. as required.

Lovely stay

We visited County Mayo earlier this month (May 08) and had a lovely stay at Orchard Lodge. The bedrooms were immaculate and the breakfasts gorgeous and made to order. We hope to visit again next time we are in Ireland.

We absolutely loved it!

We booked this B&B because we read in your site that it had been awarded BEST FAMILY HOME OF IRELAND 2007.

First of all, our guest Trudy was a wonderful host.

She gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel right at home.

I was feeling rather sick that day, because of food poisoning, and she prepared me a wonderful chicken soup which made me feel a lot better.

The food we had for dinner was absolutely superb.

The room was lovely, very clean and bright and with a lovely fragrance everywhere.

Trudy's husband, Robert was also very kind and he gave us precious hints to get to places where tourists don't usually go.

From the moment we entered until we left, everything was just harmonious and perfect.

We had a lovely time in this B&B and recommend it to anyone who enjoys the calm and quiet of the countryside in a friendly and casual atmosphere.

We're sure we shall return!

What can I say! Trudy is an excellent host and a very good cook!!
This B & B was excellent for comfort, hospitality, food,etc. I have no complaints and would definitely visit Orchard Lodge again. Highly recommended!!
