Tinaroo Haven Holiday Lodge is situated 200 metres from Lake Tinaroo, an area famed for all year round Barramundi fishing as well as water sports. The lodge is centrally located and is a high level pole house constructed using local regional timbers, which are featured throughout the lodge interior and exterior. It is designed to provide views of the surrounding mountains, and is hidden away in the treetops in a secluded area on 2.5 acres of native bushland. The accommodation is fully self contained with all amenities which include 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans (air conditioners are not required in this climate). The lodge can accommodate up to 6 people.
To make your stay more comfortable:
• We will provide you with provisions for a continental breakfast (this only applies to stays of longer than 2 days).
• We will provide you with luxurious bath robes for use during your stay;
• We will provide you with slippers which you may take home with you after your stay;
This is all part of our standard rate.
At an additional cost:
• A picnic basket can be packed for a picnic at the lake;
• We can arrange for a relaxing Ka Huna massage in the privacy and comfort of the lodge.
The top floor, of the lodge includes a dining area and log fire place which provides a fantastic atmosphere in which to relax and enjoy the local produce and peaceful surroundings.

The balcony features an outdoor dining area with a BBQ and is a great place to take in the natural wildlife.

T.V., videos, games, books and laundry facilities are available in The Lodge. The Lodge has been designed to accommodate the disabled and is wheelchair friendly.

Regular visitors to the front lawn of Tinaroo Haven Holiday Lodge are Wallabies, Bandicoots, Paddymelons and Possums. For those interested in bird watching, over 150 varieties of native birds ranging from the tiny Fire Tail Finch to Australia's largest raptor, the Wedge Tail Eagle frequent the area in the immediate vicinity of the Lodge. Native flowering trees which have been planted in the area immediately below the Lodge serve as an added attraction to the many nectar eating birds and other wild life.

Driving Directions: Upon leaving the Cairns International airport, proceed to the main road (Capt. Cook Hwy) and turn right, following the highway until you get to the Smithfield Shopping Complex, which is at the roundabout after the Skyrail terminal. Take the Kuranda turnoff at the roundabout. Follow the highway up the range towards Mareeba. Just as you come into Mareeba, the highway splits. Take the Left hand fork and head toward Atherton. In approximately 24 kms, you will come to the little township of Tolga. As you enter Tolga, you will see the Tolga Woodworks on your Right. About 500 metres after the woodworks, you will come to a crossroads. Turn Left, following the signs to Kairi and Tinaroo Dam. When you reach the 'T' intersection on the outskirts of Kairi, go past the Kairi Hotel and store. After you pass the school the road continues around to the left and is signposted to Tinaroo Dam. This is the start of a long straight. Proceed about 2.5 km along that straight. When you reach the top of the hill at the end of the straight, turn right into Malcolm Road. Off Malcolm Road, you will find Bluewater Drive; turn left into Blue Water Drive. Towards the bottom of Bluewater Drive you will see, Wavell Drive. Turn left into Wavell Drive. Tinaroo Haven Holiday Lodge’s driveway is straight in front of you at the end of Wavell Drive – Number 42.

Local Area Attractions: Using the Lodge as your home base, some of the local attractions include: • For those who enjoy fishing for the local Barramundi or setting up a Red Claw trap, Lake Tinaroo is a fisherman’s paradise and only 200 metres from your front door. If you prefer outdoor water sports, Lake Tinaroo offers skiing, yachting, windsurfing and boating. • 30 Minutes drive time allows you to visit the Lakes Eacham and Barrine, Yungaburra, Atherton, Mt Uncle Winery, Golden Drop Distillery and the giant Curtain Fig Tree. There are also Coffee Plantations with tasting facilities in and around Mareeba. • Should you wish to venture further, a drive of under 60 minutes will take you to Ravenshoe, Millstream Falls, Granite Gorge, Malanda Falls, Millaa Millaa falls and Kuranda, which offers scenic railway trips, Skyrail, Rainforest Tours, Birdworld, Koala Gardens, Butterfly Sanctuary and the unique Kuranda markets. • A little over a 60 minute drive will see you in Cairns, Innisfail, Paronella Park and the Undara Lava Tubes.
