A warm welcome is assured at this heritage listed (C.1865) property. The Official Meet & Greet Committee are 2 very friendly golden retrievers who are always available for a kind word and a cuddle. This grand country home has been refurbished to reflect The Victorian era in which it was built, but concessions to modern living include central heating with reverse cycle air conditioning, plus underfloor heating in all bathrooms. A full country breakfast is included in our tariffs plus comlimentary port and chocolates.
There is so much to see and do here in The Huon Valley (and Matilda's is a great place to start your journey along the Huon Trial), that one night simply is not enough.

Cancellation Policy: If cancellation takes place with 48 hours of the booking, then the first night's accommodation hass to be paid for.

Breakfast: A full (cooked) breakfast plus fresh fruits and cereals to start and then an a la carte choice of 3 hot breakfasts. Tea & Coffee made to order, plus fresh juices -including local apple juice.

Driving Directions: 30 minutes south of Hobart. Take the A-6 highway and head for Huonville. Turn right at the one and only roundabout in Huonville, travel approx 2 kms, where you will slow down for a really sharp corner. Get ready to turn right into our driveway at that point.

Local Area Attractions: Tahune Air walk, Home Hill Winery & Restaruant, Huon Jet Boat, Bush walks galore, other great wineries and restaurants, The Hastings Caves and Hot springs ...and heaps of craft shops and other interesing things to see and do.

Onsite Activities: 5.5 acres of heritage listed gardens and parklands stretching down to Matilda's lower boundary which is The Mountain River. Walks with golden retrievers (they take you - not the other way around!). Drinks and good conversation in the guests' drawing room.

Seasonal Info: Tasmania is a temperate island. Average max temepraature in sumemr is abotu 22 degres C and the max in the winter would average abut 12-15 degrees C.
