Located on the first rise of the Highland Hills over-looking Sandy Hook State Park, the historic GrandLady offers 4 uniquely beautiful guest rooms with their own private bath. GrandLady boasts an illustrious history beginning with Sir Henry Hudson disembarking from the Half Moon in 1609, and the the British army evacuating to Sandy Hook during the 1778 Battle of Monmouth. In the 1800s the 13 room house was referred to as the Water Witch Hotel taking it's name from the novel entitled The Water Witch or Skimmer of the Seas written in 1830 by J. Fenimore Cooper. Built in 1910 the GrandLady has been completely renovated with classic natural wood moldings and pocket doors to preserve the wonderful craftsmanship of the period. Each room is beautifully decorated with assorted antiques, queen size beds, ceiling fans, central A/C, Satellite TV, and a spacious private bathroom. |
