Huon Bush Retreats  

Private, contemporary, self-contained cabins, deluxe tipees and a campground set in an extensive nature reserve, make Huon Bush Retreats the perfect place to relax, explore and experience nature.

A 1/2 hour stroll through the oldgrowth forest to marvel at the lush tree ferns, 60m high eucalypts, fragrant rainforest trees and the tiny creatures scurrying on the moss covered forest floor. Possums, wallabies, bats and owls can be found most evenings.

Self cater in well equipped kitchens or enjoy a gourmet dinner served direct to your cabin or the outdoor entertainment area. A glass of fine local wine enjoyed under the stars soaking in the outdoor bath to end the perfect day at Huon Bush Retreats.

Twelve volt solar electricity, supplies lights and music, whilst the wood fire keeps the cabin cosy, even under winter snows. Each cabin has a composting toilet an indoor shower and also features an outdoor bath. Furnishings are modern and very comfortable.

Tipees are not quite camping, not quite luxury cabin. Fully carpeted with double sofa bed, solar electric lights and music. The wood fired heater keeps them cozy year round.

By day, abundant birds and small creatures inhabit the forest and open areas. By night nocturnal mammals go about their lives throughout the site. Please drive slowly at night as wallabies frequently jump in front of moving cars.

Driving Directions: * On the Huon Highway, go 3km south from Grove. Look for the blue and yellow "Huon Bush Retreats" signs at the turnoff to Judbury. * Drive 3km to Ranelagh, * then 2.5 km along North Huon Road and turn right into Browns Road, then * 3 km to the front gate, then 1 km to reception.
