Tigh-na-Ros (House of the Rose) is a comfortable, welcoming single-story house in a peaceful situation on the edge of the remote and romantic village of Glenelg in the scenic Western Highlands of Scotland. On the original 'Road to the Isles', five minutes walk from the sea. The last remaining turntable car ferry in Europe operates during the summer, carrying visitors by the most direct route to the Isle of Skye. The surrounding countryside offers wonderful walking, and Sandaig Island, the setting of Gavin Maxwell's 'Ring of Bright Water' is nearby, and the world-famous Eilean Donan Castle is a short drive away. Two twin rooms are normally available, both with tea and coffee-making facilities. 'Sea Room' has en-suite shower room with wash-hand basin and WC, and hair-drier 'Room with a View', with outlook over the garden and mountains beyond shares the family bathroom. Breakfast is normally served in the Conservatory, with superb view up Glen Mhor towards the Five Sisters of Kintail. We also offer table d'hote dinner if reserved in advance. Menus at £15 and £25 including aperitif, wine and coffee. Continental cuisine. |
