Located in the heart of the Waitakere ranges close to Karekare and Piha Beaches and 50 minutes from Auckland CBD and International Airport, Lone Kauri Lodge is an ideal base for exploring the many walking tracks in the ranges, relaxing after a day at the beach or relaxing after your long journey to New Zealand before setting off to see the rest of our beautiful country.

Cancellation Policy: If booking is cancelled 14 days or more prior to expected date of arrival your deposit will be refunded less a 20% administration fee.

Breakfast: Continental Breakfast (Cereal, Fresh Fruit Salad, Yoghurt, toast, tea and coffee) is included in room rate. Full cooked breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, tomatoes, mushrooms) is available by arrangement for small additional charge.

Driving Directions: Lone Kauri Lodge is approximately 50 minutes drive from the centre of Auckland and a similar time from Auckland International Airport. We are approximately 8 kms (a 10 to 15 minute drive) from both Piha with its renowned surf beach and Karekare where the Piano was filmed. From the junction of Piha Road and Scenic Drive follow Piha Road for 10kms and turn left into Lone Kauri Road. Follow Lone Kauri Road and take the first right into La Trobe Track. Follow La Trobe Track for about 400 metres to the entrance to the lodge on the left. Please take care on both Piha Road and Lone Kauri Road. Lone Kauri Road in particular is narrow and twisty and you should always be prepared for vehicles coming in the opposite direction
