Our homestay is situated near the top of Mount Paku, the mountain which dominates the Tairua skyline. There are wonderful views of the ocean and islands from our surrouding decks and is from where we serve complimentary refreshments on guests' arrival. A feature most appreciated by our guests is the use of the elevator which accesses all three floors for both visitors & luggage. Delicious breakfasts are included in the tariff with fresh fruit salad, home-made bread & muffins, eggs cooked any style with bacon, tomatoes, hash browns, sausages and as much tea or coffee as required. There are many bush walks in the area, some with kauri groves. |

Driving
Directions: Depart Auckland heading South on S.H. 1. After crossing Bombay Hills, turn left at foot of the hill onto S.H.2. Turn left onto S.H. 25 on road to Thames. After crossing Kopu Bridge,follow road signs to Tairua on S.H.25A. This road will take you to Hikuai and S.H.25 - keep following signs to Tairua. In middle of the town of Tairua, turn right opp. BOP Service Station into Manair Road and continue to end of this road. Turn right into Paku Drive then up a winding road to the top of Paku Hill. Our house, no. 202, is beside the reserve & is sign-posted. |
