Welcome to the oldest original all brick home in the city of
Duncanville, built by the chief Mason in 1927, John C. Pelt.
This lovely original home graces Hustead St. as one of the
last surviving homes that is an entirely all brick structure
with a wraparound porch, graced with three gothic arches.
The home has a nice sitting area under the porch large
enough to seat several people for enjoyable dining or just to
enjoy a cool breeze that blows through the eight foot tall
hedges. This area is entirely hidden and private with two of
the bed rooms having doors that open up into it. Once
through the front door, the beautiful ambience of the 1920's
era begins to unfold with a homey atmosphere as you walk
across the original hard wood floors. The adjoining dinning
room seats six people on a solid carved oak table nearly
twice the home's age. By entering the hallway and going to
the next entrance, you find yourself in a very large antique
1920's style kitchen with another dining area for six with a
refreshment and snack waiting for you. In the following
morning, you will enjoy hot breakfasts that can be had
anywhere with many choices.
