COUNTRY HOUSE XAYMACA  

Xaymaca is a beautifully restored traditional 19thC country-village house, opened in December 2004, offering superior self-catering holiday accomodation for 4 to 8 people. Spacious areas with original high beamed ceilings, stone walls and terracotta tiled floors blend with warm, sunny colours and an ingenuous mix of antique, rustic and contemorary furnishings. The fusion of Mediterranean and Caribbean features create a charming and harmonious atmosphere where quality is the trademark.

Massive old wooden entrance doors lead from the house’s private parking area into a stone-walled courtyard with a fountain ensconced amongst verdant and colourful Mediterranean plants and flowers, ideal for al-fresco dining on warm summer nights. Blue framed glass doors open into a spacious and sunny lounge with comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove. At one end of this room is a TV/video/DVD and music area, with bookshelves full of an ample selection of Spanish & English videos, books and board games for all ages and interests.

A colourful and rustic styled kitchen, fully equipped with state of the art appliances (ceramic hob, oven, extractor, fridge/freezer, micro-wave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, coffeemaker, kettle, etc), will meet all culinary needs. A huge archway connects the kitchen with an open plan area that is comfortably divided into a cosy sitting-room, with its eye-catching modern fireplace set against the backdrop of stone walls, and a dining room with seating for 8 people.

Terracotta tiled stairs lead upstairs to the first floor where four ample double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom, are located. Two bedrooms have king-sized beds and share a secluded terrace with mountain views. The other two bedrooms have twin beds and overlook the village. All bedrooms have airconditioning and are decorated and furnished to the highest standards together with a careful selection of top quality bed and bath linen. Ample sized bathrooms are equiped with modern sanitary ware, three with large walk-in showers and the fourth with a whirlpool bath. There is a pretty powder room downstairs. The house has a modern low consumption central heating system, a smoke detector system and complies with all fire prevention norms.

Outdoors, there is a wide choice of areas for everyone. The two-level patio leads up to the fruit orchard and garden area where a large 11x 4m swimming pool, that can be floodlit for those summer-night dips, overlooks the valley and surrounding mountains. There is outdoor furniture and sunloungers for sunbathing, resting or reading in the garden under shady trees. A covered porch and barbecue area complete this unique accomodation where you will want to return time and again.

In Xaymaca, we pride ourselves on treating our guests with that personal touch, welcoming them with fresh fruit, drinks, wine, bread, butter, tea, coffee, etc to help them recover after a tedious journey. A cleaning service is included once a week, which can be extended upon request and the owners take care of pool and garden maintenance. Maps and local information are also provided
