It is a wonderful lodging base for visitors to Chicago conventions, museums, Hyde Park seminaries, shopping, art museums, and to the University of Chicago and University of Chicago Hospitals.

Your hosts, owner Charlie Havens—along with Sarina Carrillo and Allison Havens—enjoy introducing guests to their Hyde Park neighborhood and to Chicago's South Side. Our guests arrive from the world's four corners and from throughout the United States, and then return to make Wooded Isle Suites their home away from home.

Numerous small ethnic restaurants and transportation to downtown Chicago, O'Hare Airport, Midway Airport, and McCormick Place Convention Center are all readily available. Lodging in Hyde Park introduces you to a South Side Chicago neighborhood, is less expensive than the downtown hotels, inns, & hotel suites, provides the space and comfort of a kitchen-equipped apartment, and, like a bed & breakfast experience, is lodging "outside the box."

Get to McCormick Place Convention Center in 10 minutes by commuter train. Walk to the University of Chicago in 10-15 minutes. The University of Chicago Hospitals and Medical Center is a mile away. We are across the park from the Museum of Science & Industry and 10 blocks from DuSable Museum of African American History. Downtown shopping and the Art Institute of Chicago are only 15 minutes away by commuter train and 20-25 minutes by car or bus.

Driving Directions: From Lake Shore Drive, exit at 57th Drive at the Museum of Science and Industry. At the second stop light, turn right. Go one more block to the first stop light, which is Stony Island Avenue. Turn left; Wooded Isle Suites is in the middle of the block. Park on either side of Stony Island. (There is a "Loading Zone" directly in front of the building that you may use temporarily to unload your luggage.)
