ReviewsBeware
Date of Stay: 2009-01-01 When my wife and I were asked to be in the wedding of our friends in Fredericksburg we booked a room through Absolute Charm for the respective weekend; however, to the sadness of all, approximately 9 days prior to the ceremony the wedding was canceled. We live in another state, so I immediately contacted the Inn keeper via email, and followed up with a phone call, requesting to cancel our stay. Over the course of the week I left another message requesting the Inn Keeper call me, but at no time were my calls returned. Instead, the Inn Keeper opted to communicate with me solely via email. In short, our efforts were to no avail as Absolute Charm refused to comprise with us and we were ultimately charged full price for the entire weekend.
The unwillingness of this organization to assist and reach some sort of fair compromise with their respective clientele is hard for me to understand. Again, it wasn’t as if we trying to cancel 24 to 48 hours prior to a scheduled arrival, but rather almost 8 full days of notice were given. When I informed the Inn Keeper of my intentions of posting this message to any receptive party, I was informed she didn’t take kindly to this “threat”. As I explained to her, not only do I believe other unsuspecting travelers should be fully aware of the practices deployed, not just posted on a website; but in these days of economic woes most would find a business who lacked the willingness to work with clientele troubling.
