The Balfour, built in 1898,is situated within spacious landscaped gardens and has B&B rooms with full ensuite bathrooms and rooms with semi-private bathrooms. The interiors of many of the rooms have handpainted ceilings and faux finished walls, as the aim is to preserve the charm, character and heritage of this historic mansion. We are a B&B in a really great location in Vancouver, close to sightseeing, transport, shops, restaurants , very safe and central, we are 9 mins to the downtown financial core by car or bus. Our location is a short walk to Van Dusen Gardens, 10 minutes from Queen Elizabeth Park with it's beautiful observatory, and walking distance to Granville Island. Please see our website. |

Directions: From Vancouver airport- follow signs for Vancouver via Granville street exit.Continue driving north on Granville towards the skyline, as you drive you will notice the numbers of the cross streets are decreasing from 64th to 63rd and so on,41st is a larger intersection, keep on Granville till you get to 25th Ave which is called King Edward.Keep on going but now stay in the right hand lane as you will turn 2nd right into Balfour Ave.Keep on past all these large homes and you will cross Osler, then we are middle house on the right painted yellow with a Canadian flag flying.If you get to Oak and see the Starbucks, you have just missed us!
From the US , Seattle,& Victoria ferries;
Follow the I-5 towards Vancouver.Continue on Highway 99 north-( this goes through the downtown). Follow signs for Vancouver via Oak Street Bridge, and keep on straight following signs for 99 north,(don’t turn off to city centre signs).The street numbers you cross get lower.At 25th Ave it is called King Edward and is quite a large intersection with a petrol station each side.Continue on Oak Street northbound, but get into the left hand lane and at 22nd Ave turn left into Balfour.There is a Starbucks on the opposite corner.We are the second house in (lemon yellow) from the apt. building on the corner, with a Canadian flag flying outside.
