Leaside Manor B&B  

Leaside is a spectacular, 4 and 1/2 star heritage mansion located in downtown St. John's offering full service apartments, romantic honeymoon suites, and elegant and discreet meeting facilities. The former home of the Parker family, one of Newfoundland's most prominent merchants, ""The Lea"" is a 10,000 square foot Tudor revival mansion built in ""arts and craft"" design. She is as elegant and old-world-luxurious today as when she was built back in 1921. The large reception area, with its beamed ceiling and paneled walls, was inspired by the hall in the homestead of the Doulton family (of Royal Doulton fame) in Kilmacolm, Scotland. The rooms and suites are spacious and furnished with antiques. All have ensuite washrooms. For those celebrating special occasions, Leaside has several, very romantic suites (with double jacuzzis). In-room breakfast is available. Leaside's apartments are spacious, luxurious and fully equipped. All include private decks, separate entrances and complimentary breakfast. One deluxe suite is fully wheelchair accessible. Finally, Elaine (Hann) owns and operates Leaside. She is a local who has spent many years ""away""! Many of Leaside's guests have availed of her knowledge and experience in planning their Newfoundland holiday.
