Belfry Cottage  

"Belfry Cottage is proudly nestled at the back of a 140 year old farmyard. The cottage and surrounding buildings date from the mid 1800's and consist of a Victorian brick farmhouse, where the owners, Gerry and Ginny reside; a barn, which houses an antique shop and Belfry Cottage, the original carriage house. The original bell, housed in the belfry, was used to call in farmhands or as an alarm. The property has been in the owner's family for 70 years. The original farm lands once grew tender fruit, but is now a lovely vineyard with a winery nearby. Across the road is a farm market where fresh food and produce are readily available. "

Driving Directions: From Toronto: follow the Queen Elizabeth Way (Q.E.W.) toward Niagara. Once across the Garden City Skyway at St. Catharines, take the Niagara-on-the-Lake exit (38B). From the traffic light at York Road go left, then right at next light onto Niagara Stone Rd.. Follow Niagara Stone Rd. through Virgil (two traffic lights). Belfry Cottage is located on the right, just before the next traffic light (East-West Line), directly across from Harvest Barn Farm Market.

From Detroit: take Highway 401 and 403 to Hamilton, and join the Q.E.W. toward Niagara. Then follow the same route as traffic from Toronto.

From New York, Ohio, or Pennsylvania: cross the Niagara River into Canada at Buffalo, Niagara Falls, or Lewiston, NY. Take Q.E.W. (or 405 to Q.E.W.) and exit at Niagara Stone Rd. (38B) (see From Toronto) or take the scenic Niagara Parkway (a bit longer) and make left onto East-West Line, just past McFarland House. At traffic light make a left onto Niagara Stone Rd. and another left into the driveway of Belfry Cottage.

Local Area Attractions: 5 minutes from Historic Niagara-on-the Lake. 15 minute scenic drive to Niagara Falls. Within walking distance of numerous wineries. Located on bicycle path with access to all walking and cycling facilites.

Onsite Activities: Complimentary bicycle storage and local wine tastings. Local farm market and bakery across the street.
