"Owned and operated by Frank Turner and Anne Tayler". Muktuk Adventures is located on the Takhini River, close to the ""old Dawson Trail"", the Takhini Hot Springs and the Yukon Quest Trail. The ranch is surrounded by panoramic views of the mountains in the Ibex Valley, the Laberge Hills and Haeckel Hill. Nestled into an ox-bow on the river, the 100-acre ranch is bordered on three sides by the river. This location is ideal for mushing in the winter, and for canoeing and swimming in the summer. Our main building is located near the river, with a cedar sauna tucked in behind it. Our guests join us for meals in the main lodge, and all the mushing gear is located in the Dog Room. Our home is built with Sitka spruce logs from Haines, Alaska (Yukon Alaska Log Homes). Frank and our crew will provide expert instruction and guiding, and Frank will share some of the secrets of running competitively in the Quest. Visitors will also learn about canine nutrition and care. We are completely dedicated to giving our dogs the best possible care -- from the birth of puppies, throughout their racing careers, and their retirement. We make a special effort to ensure that our ""seniors"" enjoy a comfortable retirement. We work closely with our vet in Whitehorse, along with an expert in naturopathic treatments, other specialists, and a nutritionist. " |
