Location & History The lodge, located at 9582 U.S. Highway 285, sits on 19 acres which is the remnant of a pioneer family homestead that has been in the Richardson family for over 60 years. The family recently moved from the original log cabin to this modern, spacious family lodge. Poncha Springs : known as the “Crossroads of the Rockies,?is conveniently located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 (the historic transcontinental route from Washington D.C. to San Francisco) and U.S. Highway 285 (the scenic route from Denver to Santa Fe). The lodge is less than 3 miles north of this intersection. Salida, Colorado : known as the “Heart of the Rockies,?is a major recreational center located just east of the Continental Divide along the Arkansas River. Only 2 hours from Colorado Springs (3 hours from Denver International Airport), Salida has grown from a railroad and mining town into a respected artist community and significant historical district. It is the ideal ‘base camp?for Gold Medal fly fishing on the Arkansas, climbing ?4ers,?mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, skiing, hiking, camping, hunting, ? wheeling,?soaring, soaking in one of the nearby hot springs, horseback riding, photography, sightseeing, shopping or even just relaxing while you enjoy our majestic mountain views!
