WELCOME! Sundance Bear Lodge is a country Bed and Breakfast in southwestern Colorado -- only 10 miles to Mesa Verde National Park and 30 miles to the Durango - Silverton train. You have arrived at the AncientWest of the vanishing Anasazi culture -- and the Wild West of the American frontier. Enjoy this step back in time, when life moved at a slower pace. Mancos and Sundance Bear Lodge are your base to experience & enjoy cliff dwellings, Durango, Telluride, the Four Corners and the San Juan Skyway. Wow! Memories are made here!! Bring the family or a group of friends; we have 3 types of lodging in one location, each with a slightly different ambiance on 80 plus acres. (1) two B&B rooms with private baths in the main lodge; (2) romantic Log Cabin with loft (sleeps 4); (3) 3 bedroom fully equipped & handicap accessible Guest House. Rent the guest house as Unit 1 (sleeps 3) or Unit 2 (sleeps 6) or a whole. Return to Sundance Bear after a day of touring, hiking, fishing, horseback riding to relax in the comfort of the lodge living room, soak in the hot tub, or snooze in the hammock. Sunsets are more than beautiful--they're entertainment. And we'll make a bet -- you'll want to stay one more day! Come relax, sit in the rocker & put your feet up. Bring binoculars and camera for Mesa Verde! See our reviews on Trip Advisor. |

Date of Stay: 2010-04-01 My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days at the Sundance Bear Lodge in Mancos, Colorado. The lodge was bright and beautiful with so many artistic and playful touches. It is comfortable and so inviting; great views from every window, a big fireplace, comfy seating and a very informal atmosphere. It was better than many of the fancy resorts I have stayed at in Jackson Hole. I especially enjoyed the big fireplace and the grand dining table. Where we made new friends, had delicious breakfasts and interesting and fun conversations with our hosts and other guests.
We stayed in the Mesa Verde room which was very romantic with a gas fireplace, big bed and cozy SouthWestern décor. It was also quiet and so relaxing after a day of sightseeing and hiking.
Bob and Sue Scott were friendly and informative. They were so attentive to our needs they seemed to remember what we needed even before we did. They were so very helpful with directions and suggestions for sights and activities we were never bored or without something to do. There was a binder in our room with information as well. They really knew their community and what it had to offer.
I would highly recommend a stay at Sundance Bear Lodge to my family and friends. I hope to return there soon to see our new ‘old friends’, the Scotts and their family of pets.
