I had a wonderful time and for the most part the Inn was in pretty good shape. After a bit of research, it sounded as if the years had not been kind (which is common in the tropics) so I called and spoke with Lucy before booking. What a wonderful surprise! The new owners are not only delightful people but they have put a tremendous amount into the Inn. I am very picky about the conditions of where I stay and I can honestly say that everything was in perfect order, something I rarely find in even big name Hawaiian hotels costing three times as much per night. Lucy and Terry were so friendly and helpful. I can¡¯t remember the last time I received such personal service with such sincerity. All this and in what is by my estimation the best location in all of the Hawaiian Islands. The next time I return to Kauai, I already know where I¡¯ll be staying! And you don't want to miss the incredible experience of a massage in our gazebo next to the waterfalls and pools. Our talented therapists specialize in Hawaiian style Lomi Lomi and Pohaku (hot stone) massage. The gentle sounds of water, the breezes rustling the palms and the birds singing in the trees create nature's own brand of background music. The Bamboo Jungle House is located on the south side of the island high in the hills of Kalaheo where the prevailing trade winds provide Kauai's own brand of natural air conditioning. We enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the South shore coastline and the mountains. We are a convenient 15 miles southwest of the airport in Lihue and a short drive to Old Koloa Town and the Poipu beaches. To our West is Polihale Beach, magnificent Waimea Canyon and the hiking trails of Koke'e State Park. Around the corner is Kukuiolono Park with it's lovely Japanese Gardens and 9 hole golf course with spectacular views of the ocean and mountains. Nothing on the island is very far.
