" A stay at The Samuel Sewall Inn offers the opportunity to experience beautiful, Victorian accommodations in which Old World charm and elegance are coupled with modern conveniences. We pride ourselves on our unique setting, convenient locale and high level of service. We are located ten minutes from downtown Boston by trolley and are within walking distance of a wonderful shopping and dining area. Typical of a Victorian home, no two rooms are exactly alike; each has its own character and layout. Five of our fourteen rooms have fireplaces and all rooms have cable television, CD/DVD players or VCRs, telephones, dedicated modem lines, high-speed wireless internet access, irons, ironing boards and private bathrooms equipped with hairdryers and complimentary toiletries. An expanded breakfast buffet is served daily as well as home-baked cookies, cakes and other snacks. Local telephone calls and off-street parking are included at no extra charge. Outfitted with high ceilings and large windows, many containing stained glass, this spacious house is an ideal bed and breakfast. The 117-year-old house has been restored to its original splendor using period antiques, fine wallpaper and draperies. The owner, an award-winning historical preservationist, has a wonderful collection of antiques that is showcased in each of our rooms. With his wife, an interior decorator, they have thoughtfully restored each room to a perfect balance of color, fabric and history. Today, The Samuel Sewall Inn serves as a retreat from the whirl of downtown Boston. Located two miles from Boston and convenient to public transportation, guests are able to remain close to the cultural and business centers of the city yet return to the tranquility of the Inn and its quiet, residential neighborhood. We are proud to serve seasonal specialties such as hot apple cider and always offer warm hospitality after a busy day of work, visiting with friends and family, or sightseeing. Our staff is eager to assist you and help make staying at The Samuel Sewall Inn a memorable experience. We are pleased to be your home while you visit Boston. With the arrival of the summer months, our patio is a soothing afternoon refuge for reading and appreciating the outdoors. Surrounded by a garden of colorful flowers, take in the morning sunshine while enjoying breakfast. Morning selections include homemade baked goods, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, cereals, juices and other beverages, as well as hot entrées such as frittatas, quiches, pancakes and baked French toast"
