Berry Hill Gardens is off the beaten path on a secluded country lane, yet only 7 miles from Bainbridge, Afton or Oxford Villages. This country bed and breakfast is situated on a hilltop overlooking miles of the rural beauty of New York's Central Leatherstocking region in an area bursting with museums, sporting facilities, artisans and fascinating history. The vista of extensive herb and perennial gardens with hundreds of plant varieties offer three-season interest and a tranquil atmosphere in which to stroll or lounge.

The restored 1820's farmhouse is furnished with early American antiques and boasts a large great room for guests' relaxation . There's a welcoming wood burning stove for cozying up to after cross-country skiing and a grand wrap around porch offers views to the countryside year-round. Recently featured in Country Living Gardener Magazine, the Gardens have been the site for small intimate weddings and large lavish affairs. The property comprises hundreds of acres of woods, fields and ponds for bird watching, hiking, cross country skiing and fishing as well as artists workshops.

Ask about accommodations at our newly completed earth friendly Buckthorn Lodge: a private retreat secreted in a sunny glen. The Lodge is solar powered, ringed by forest and a pristine lake. The elegant rustic interior relies on natural products and fibers, emphasizing comfort and green living. Here's the ideal place to unwind and enjoy the scents, sights and sounds of nature, and a stroll down the romantic woodland path to the lake.

A full healthy living country breakfast is served featuring farm fresh foods, organic coffees and teas. All bedchambers have ceiling fans, bathrobes and natural-fiber linens and private bath. In the Lodge each bedchamber has a fireplace, private bath and king bed. Highlights of the Lodge include a great room with a fireplace, library, full kitchen and wrap around porch.
