On acreage purchased from Wm. Penn's Commissioners in the 17th Century, Pennsbury Inn's original dwelling house, erected in 1714 of Brandywine Blue Granite rubble stone, was enlarged mid-century by a stone addition of surpassing proportions with the front facade clad in hand-molded Flemish Bond brick. A 19th Century clapboard extension housed both coachman quarters and beehive bake oven. A 20th Century addition contains a garden view dining area. This Chadds Ford PA Bed and Breakfast Inn proudly presents a blend of colonial heritage and country elegance. It is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
