For starters, Granbury's courthouse square is home to an eclectic collection of antique shops, a 19th-century jailhouse, the Hood County Historical Museum, the Granbury Opera House (an old-fashioned playhouse), and Granbury Live (a music venue for the entire family). Other attractions of historical note include the Granbury Cemetery, Acton State Park, the Pate Museum of Transportation, the Granbury Historic Railroad Depot, the Great Race Automotive Hall of Fame, and the Brazos Old-Fashioned Drive-in & Cinema. Four outfits in town provide historical tours, and an always-eventful calendar chronicles Granbury's rich heritage with General Granbury's Birthday Celebration in March, a spectacular July 4 Fireworks Extravaganza, a Civil War re-enactment in September, the Harvest Moon Festival in October, and the Candlelight Tour of Homes in December.
