"A historic Bed and Breakfast in Texas' Hill Country near Castroville, Boerne, Del Rio and San Antonio. This historic hotel in D'Hanis, Texas was built in 1906. It has 5 large guest rooms with beautiful antique furnishings. The building is air conditioned and smoke-free. If you stay with us, we will serve you a full home-cooked breakfast. You will also enjoy comfortable beds and private baths and, of course very reasonable rates. When you enter the front door of our place, you immediately feel as if you are at home again with Grandma. In the entry hallway hangs an electrified old lamp fixture. Your eyes focus on the beautifully restored wood floors. Outside the upstairs hallway is the favorite sitting spot for most of our visitors--a large upstairs front porch where you can sit and rock in one of the many rocking chairs and watch small town activity in D'Hanis, read a book, sip a drink, visit or just SIT!! The hotel is air conditioned and all of the rooms have their own baths with tile floors. There are TV's in all guest rooms. Hosts Hilo and Candy Del Bosque have owned the building since 1995, worked on renovation for 3 years before opening it in January of 1998. In the year and half that we have been open we have enjoyed guest from as far away as Guatemala, Alsace, France, Italy, Alaska. We have been approved for a Texas Historical Marker for the building. It was built with some of the first brick that was made from the D'Hanis Brick Factory actually from a press D'Hanis bought from Luling & Lockhart (L & L) to try the clay in this area for brickmaking.
