Families, reunions with friends, ski groups, corporate retreats and seminars are additional specialties, as both The Farm and its additional property, The Overlook, are available for rental as separate properties, or together, on a nightly/weekly basis. Reasonable rates and a location close to Route 100 and the Sugarbush and Mad River Glen Ski resorts provide guests with easy access to dining, entertainment and all the activities for which the Sugarbush and Mad River Valley area are well-known. Situated on 42 acres in Waitsfield, Vermont, with spectacular views of the Mad River, Green Mountains, meadows and waterfalls from every vantage point, The Farm offers many special settings for both the enjoyment of our guests and for outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. A Destination for All Seasons The Farm is in close proximity to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen ski resorts as well as Ole's Cross Country Ski center and Blueberry Lake Cross Country Ski area. There is phenomenal cross-country skiing and snow shoeing on The Farm's property in the winter. The swimming is excellent in the warmer months of the year. Stocked with a variety of trout each spring, fishing at The Farm's location on the Mad River is an extraordinary experience for most fishermen. Mountain biking and hiking trails are nearby as are golf courses, tennis courts, the public ice skating rink and much more! Five Bed & Breakfast Rooms, and The Overlook The nineteenth century farmhouse features a wrap-around deck overlooking the Mad River, comfortable bedrooms (shared and private baths), large living and dining room areas, and a restaurant-quality kitchen. The Farm on Mad River also includes a one bedroom home and one bedroom cottage, known as The Overlook , which is available for nightly and weekly rentals. This property is perfect for two couples to share, or a family/group of 4-6 persons. The main house has a living room, fireplace, full kitchen, master bedroom (sleeps 2) with dressing room, master bath, main bath, large front deck, patio, private backyard and garden, and outdoor shower. The cottage is an open living space with seating area and bedroom (sleeps 2-4), bath with shower, small refrigerator and stove, and screened-in porch overlooking the Mad River. B&B guests are treated each morning to a full, country-style breakfast included in the nightly rates, and guests renting The Overlook's properties may join The Farm's guests for breakfast in the mornings for a small, additional charge. The Farm on Mad River welcomes children of all ages, and we maintain a pet-friendly policy for an additional daily fee. Dinners are available to The Farm's guests by special request only and with prior notification. The Overlook's guests may take advantage of our "Butler's Pantry" services by special request which include both specially-prepared dinners awaiting them and housekeeping services. A Wedding and Civil Union Reception Venue; Seminars, Reunions, Corporate & Special Events, Private Parties The Farm on Mad River hosts functions ranging from large events to small groups and is one of the few sites in the Mad River Valley that can accommodate very large outdoor parties. Parking for these events is available on-site as are other on-site services such as catering, bartending, and event coordination. The entire Inn and/or The Overlook may be rented by wedding parties or other groups. The Overlook's home and cottage are perfect for brides and grooms as a honeymoon location, or to accommodate members of the immediate families.
