Swallow's Nest Guest Cottages  

"The Swallow's Nest is a 10-15 minute ferry boat ride from Seattle, Tacoma, or the Olympic Peninsula. It affords travelers the opportunity to sojourn in a peaceful, country retreat. Eight charming cottages in four separate locations are furnished in a comfortable, warm, manner with plants, a rocking or arm chair, television, light cooking facilities, books, magazines, and a supply of tea, cocoa and fresh coffee. Two of the cottages have a magnificent view of Mount Rainier and the Puget Sound. Two are adjacent to a lovely wooded area next to the Island's premier golf course. Still another overlooks the scenic Burton Quartermaster Harbor. The community of Vashon offers a variety of activities for visitors. You may enjoy kayaking, boating, fishing and swimming. The Island has many charming restaurants, a movie theater, antique shops, art galleries, shops and parks. Bicyclists will enjoy miles of paved roads and many outstanding views. For sports enthusiasts, there is the Sportsmen's Club as well as hunting and fishing. Golfers will find the Vashon Country Club course and it's annual tournaments a delight. Smoking outside, or on the porches is acceptable. ?Families with well behaved children are encouraged to use the facilities.
