"In years past, a Country Inn served as a refuge from the rigors of everyday life. More than just providing a room to spend a night, the Inn was a destination where a person could collect one's thoughts, achieve some sense of inner peace, and enjoy the good food and hospitality that were the pride of the innkeeper. Jamieson House, a stately home located in the rural community of Poynette, Wisconsin, faithfully recreates the essence of a Country Inn. Set amidst an acre of patios, flowers, and trees is the former home of Hugh Jamieson. Built in 1878, this dignified brick Victorian home is joined with an old schoolhouse to comprise the Jamieson House Country Inn. " |
