"Ideally located in the Historic "Court House Hill" District of Janesville WI, a two hour drive from Chicago but a world away.. also 1 hr. from Milwaukee, half hour south of Madison. Scarlett House retains the charm, romance and gracious hospitality of the Victorian Era. This Queen Anne Style home was built around 1903 and is on the National Register of Homes. Frank H. Blodgett the original owner was the great grandson of Caleb Blodgett the areas first white settler in 1820's and founder of Beloit and the university. Frank the 4th generation continued to run the Blodgett Milling Company Located on the Rock River which helped supply the early pioneers with their Rye and Wheat flour. In December of 1996 Michelle Scarlette purchased the home and has restored it to it's former grandeur. Opened as a bed and breakfast in August of 1999 hundreds of satisfied guests have let us exceed their expectations. Let us exceed yours! " |
