Reviews

Unprofessional
Date of Stay: 2007-09-01

I have never in my life been so disappointed or turned off by a B&B as I have by my experience with Bayberry Inn of Newport. We are law abiding citizens and make it a point to be professional, considerate and honest in all our dealings with people. But this B&B did not show us the same courtesy.

The innkeeper actually told me that her manager does not field customer service complaints and that all emails should be directed to her--even complaints about her own person! My family found the staff rude, inattentive, and insensitive to the needs of their guests. We thought a few nights away at a quiet B&B would leave us refreshed and rejuvenated but all we got was frustration. Calling the Better Business Bureau on them was the only way I could get the manager to respond to my many calls and emails.

A B&B should be the epitome of hospitality. We prefer B&B's over hotels because hotels tend to be less friendly, with guests being nothing more than a room number. But apparently at the Bayberry Inn, guests are nothing more than dollars that they zip right into their pockets as soon as they can. And after that, your comfort means nothing to them.

There are a lot of reviews on this Inn. If you are considering staying with them, I would suggest you pay more attention to the complaints than anything else. Our friends are all seasoned travelers and by recommendation, we tend to visit each other's favorite accommodation places. I will never ever recommend Bayberry to any of my friends. After telling them my experience, they were all appalled--they've never heard of such uncamoflauged greed or unethical business policies.

The rude staff, their lack of consideration and their unprofessionalism left us wishing we had booked with Route66.
