A "Mother Daughter" twin home built in 1883 as a seaside vacation home for the Page family, the inn has ever since been catering to family, friends and vacationers of the day. Bedford Inn is well located, a very short block to the beach and near many fine restaurants and the shops of the Victorian Mall. Limited driveway parking or unmetered street parking in our neighborhood is available. Plan a relaxed and carefree vacation with us in a unique Victorian town by the sea. Start off your day with a sumptuous breakfast shared with other guests in our dining room or take a tray to one of our porches and enjoy the fresh air.
Then head for the beach and its pleasures or join a guided tour of our beautiful Historic District . Or, poke around town by yourselves admiring Cape May's famed Victorian architecture with its exuberant gingerbread trim, checking out our many unique shops or indulging in a coffeebreak on our "Victorian Mall" leisurely watching the world go by.
Relax and enjoy the quiet of authentic Victorian guest rooms or perhaps a "honeymoon" suite for a special getaway. All rooms and suites have a private bath, each with a shower and some with an old-fashioned clawfoot tub. Each room is decorated with period antiques but has touches of the new century in air-conditioning and television. Many of our rooms provide a queen bed and two of the suites offer a king.
Enjoy the cozy fireplace in our Victorian parlor or choose a book from one of our bookcases and grab a rocking chair to laze away an hour or two on one of our large, airy verandahs. Come down to tea in the late afternoon and if you feel sociable, visit with other guests - sharing your impressions of Cape May's with our lovely beach, its beautiful collection of Victorian buildings, its wonderful restaurants, cafes, shops and tours.
Archie and Stephanie Kirk come from Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. They learned about Cape May during the many years of vacationing here.
Come for a visit and take a well-earned break from your busy life at home. Relax and enjoy the quiet warmth of a home created over many years. Take back special memories of the old-fashioned charm of our village by the sea.
