Welcome to Cape May and the Luther Ogden Inn. Luther and Mary Ogden, owners of the Cape Lumber Yard, began construction of their family home in 1898. This Victorian house was completed in 1900 and features a large wrap around porch, beautiful chestnut interior pillars, ceiling beams and wood trim, and two fireplaces in the guest common areas. This elegant turn-of-the-century inn is tastefully decorated with period antiques and white wicker and is particularly noted for its magnificent antique lighting fixtures and chandeliers. In summer, our guests enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and delightful sea breezes as they dine on the prettiest porch in Cape May. In winter, a fireplace provides a cozy touch in the antique filled dining room. The inn is located in the historic district and is one block from the beach and a short walk to the mall. Our four guest rooms consist of queen or king size beds; all offering private baths, cable color TV, air conditioning and heat to assure year round comfort, full homemade breakfast, on-site parking and beach chairs. A Hospitality Room provides guests with a refrigerator, hot and cold bottled spring water, coffee and tea. |

Driving
Directions: Take the Garden State Parkway to the end (Mile 0). As you approach mile 0 get in the left hand lane. Follow signs to Cape May. You are actually going straight ahead. You will go over a big bridge and then a small bridge. Stay straight and you will be on Lafayette Street. You will go through one traffic light, Madison Ave. Go a few more blocks and turn left on Franklin Ave. There is an old pale yellow church on the left (being converted to condos). Follow Franklin until it ends. Turn right onto Kearney Ave. The Luther Ogden Inn is the second house on the right. Our parking lot is in the rear of the Inn. (Off of Benton Ave.) |
