Not your normal Bed and Breakfast. Located just six blocks (a 15-20 minute walk) from the French Quarter down the historic Esplanade or to the Race Track at the Fairgrounds where the world famous New Orleans Jazz Festival is held, it is perfectly situated for a memorable visit to the "Big Easy".

The house is a two story Greek Revival Mansion with the original carriage house and a dependency. Built in the late 1880's by Jean Francis Del Corral-Monent, it reflects a by-gone era in New Orleans history. Significant architectural features include the 14 foot cove ceilings that terminate in a delicate plaster shell motif, the original ceiling medallions and the original gasolier crystal chandeliers in both the parlors. The eight fireplaces, all with the original mantles and ceramic tile hearths set into hard wood floors.

Guests are accommodated in our two-room suites upstairs in the main house or in our cottage in the garden area. Each are named for a different continent - Europe, Asia, Eurasia and North America and are decorated with artwork from the continent they represent. They are furnished with an eclectic collection of antiques and reproduction pieces. Oriental rugs cover the polished hardwood floors in the main house.

We feature Dorothy Prentice Aromatherapy Spa soaps and shampoos, 300 count sheets, Turkish cotton spa towels and wireless high speed internet access. All accommodations have color TV's, irons, ironing boards and hairdryers. The bathrooms in the main house have antique cast iron claw foot tubs outfitted with showers and the North American Cottage has a two person multi-head, walk-in /roll-in shower.

A hot gourmet breakfast is served in our formal dining room. It is a two course event beginning with fresh seasonal fruit or fruit and yogurt, freshly brewed coffee or a selection of fine teas and a choice of juice. The entree is truly a treat for the palate.... Smoked North Alantic Salmon Scrambles, Buckwheat and Pecan Waffles with a side of Maple Sausage Links, Shrimp Benedict or possibly Omelets to order!
