Local Area
Attractions: In the Ancient City, you will see looming ahead our most prominent landmarks, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, accessed by the Bridge of Lions. Once on Anastasia Island, you will also find the Alligator Farm, one of St. Augustine's oldest attractions, and Raging Watersports located at the Conch House Marina, for an exhilarating jet ski or speed boat ride on the bay. As you cross back over Matanzas River toward city center, you'll see the Schooner Freedom docked at the Municipal Marina. You can also see the city while taking a Scenic River Cruise. Straight ahead you will find Flagler College, once the winter home of the rich and famous, as it was previously the Ponce de Leon Hotel during its heyday. Follow your way up King Street to the Lightner Museum and the San Sebastian Winery. Along the way, you'll notice all the galleries and shops in the St. Augustine Arts District. The city can easily be toured aboard the Old Town Trolley Tours, with ticket locations and stops throughout the city. The one hour guided tour will take you to such sites as Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, the Castillo de San Marcos, Mission Nombre de Dios, and many more. While you are touring St. Augustine, visit any number of Antique Association shops or the Antique Warehouse, where you just might find the deal of a lifetime. Bicycles and scooters can be found at Solano Cycle so you may tour the city at your own pace.
