THE ATHLONE INN – Situated in a stately Victorian home, The Athlone Inn’s atmosphere combines traditional sophistication with casual modern elegance. The Inn features an intimate fine dining restaurant. Tempt your palate with superb cuisine from the creative dinner menu and inspired daily specials prepared by Executive Chef and owner, Jason McMillan. Relax in one of the Inn’s spacious guest suites with luxurious feather duvets, sumptuous cotton towels, marble fireplaces and whirlpool tubs. Gourmet breakfast is always included.
The Inn is just steps away from the 1000 Islands boat tours and many other Gananoque sites (including kayaking, water front bicycle paths, shops and galleries). The playhouse is also not far, which has two theatres that offer fantastic nightly and matinee performances Tuesday thru Sunday.

Breakfast: Breakfast possibilities include dark chocolate and orange blossom waffles, asparagus and goat cheese frittata, sage and aged white Ontario cheddar baked eggs with grilled Inn-baked bread, oven roasted heirloom tomatoes with basil oil and balsamic glaze!

Driving Directions: From the East: From Highway 401, take exit 648, Highway 2 (King Street) west to Gananoque. Go straight through town (4 traffic lights), over the bridge and veer right; The Athlone Inn will be on your right. From the West: From Highway 401, take exit 645, Highway 32 South, to Gananoque. At King Street (the first traffic light) turn right, go over the bridge and veer right; The Athlone Inn will be on your right.

Onsite Activities: The first floor of the Inn welcomes you into the intimate 40 seat dining room. Tempt your palate with our spectacular dinner menu and inspired daily specials created by Executive Chef and owner, Jason McMillan. Jason has created a menu which features contemporary French cuisine using fresh ingredients, innovative techniques and artful presentation. A few Inn specialities are the Caramelized Garlic and Potato Soup garnished with sweet potato frits and basil oil, Grilled Beef Tenderloin topped with woodland mushrooms and a rich red wine demi glace, Hazelnut Encrusted Rack of Lamb, Vegetarian delights on request and Inn-made breads and desserts - especially our creme brulees!
