Take the complimentary farm tour, feed ostrich by hand, see trained sheep dogs rounding up sheep, get within a few feet of a majestic deer and feed the Alpaca's. In the evenings, enjoy a glass of wine on your own private veranda overlooking lush pasture.

Your hosts, Mike and Sharon Ferris, will ensure that your retreat is comfortable and memorable. They can also help arrange other activities so that you can experience all that Rotorua has to offer – geothermal wonderlands with geysers and bubbling mud pools, the rich Maori culture, excellent fishing, sightseeing and other exciting pursuits. Or you can travel further afield to Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whakatane, Taupo and Waitomo.

Driving Directions: Take State Highway 5 to roundabout. Travel thru Ngongotaha village on Hamurana Road – go over railway line then take 3rd left into Central Road. Turn 1st right into Jackson Road – Clover Downs Estate is number 175 on the left hand side.

Visit amazing cultural and scenic tourist attractions, catch a trout on one of the many lakes in the area, walk in cool forest glades or play a round of golf. If you’re into adventure, ride the luge, go bungy jumping, mountain biking and much more. Visit the famous Agrodome and learn even more about New Zealand culture plus much more in an exciting one-stop adventure environment. Rotorua is also famous for its rich Maori culture and heritage. Experience landscapes straight out of Maori myth and legend, see beautiful carvings, watch stunning Maori concerts, and indulge in a traditional hangi feast. For dining out, the city has an impressive array of cafés and restaurants which offer cuisine from all over the world to tempt the palate.

Onsite Activities: Mike and Sharon provide a complimentary farm tour, sharing their farming experience, and giving you a fascinating insight into farm life. The friendly farm dogs, Savy and Pinot round up a flock of Suffolk sheep. You can hand feed a giant ostrich and the alpacas, view the inquisitive Wapiti X Deer and see the elegant Fallow Hind named Rose. From the farm, Mike and Sharon can organise other memorable adventures, including sightseeing helicopter rides from the farm and guided fishing expeditions (river and lake fishing – including fly-fishing). You can even have your own tour guide for sightseeing, or be picked up from Clover Downs to enjoy a traditional Maori hangi concert and feast. There is so much to do in the Rotorua region and MIke and Sharon can recommend activities and outings that are matched to your personal taste.
