I have never written a bad review, but this time I must! I searched for two days for a review on this place and never found one, so I feel I have to make others aware. This place was dirty, smelled bad and was the the nightmare I had been lucky enough to avoid in the past. I guess I was due. Upon arrival, we discovered extremely loud condo construction going on across the lake....this of course was never mentioned in previous conversations. Also, the cabins were in poor shape and were not clean. While I understand that construction can not be helped, lack of cleanliness is inexcusable. We were informed that the owner had filed a lawsuit to have the noise stopped after a certian time in the evening, so they were fully aware of the problem. Their expalnation was that if the truth were known (about the construction) they "would not have any business." Therefore, they were content to let us drive hundreds of miles to find this out. They explained that "once guests arrive, most do not mind the noise." We felt that guests should be given that option beforehand. Then, all parties are fully aware and accepting of the situation. I suspect that the loss of their hard earned money was a motivator in any decision to overlook the noise and conditions of the cabins. I have to say, it entered my mind. After some consideration, we were willing to forfeit the money for almost anything elswhere. We expressed our disappointment with the situation. Initially, they were going to charge us 100.00 for the cancellation, but the owner was contacted by phone, and let us off the hook.....but "he was not happy about it." Of course, they were content to let us "not be happy about it." Either way, someone was not going to be happy.....I would prefer that it was him.

Great Place to Stay

My family and I have stayed at Five Points For the last four years! My Daughter has an All-star Cheer competition every year in November and we always enjoying our time in Hot Springs. The two story two bed room cabin(cabin 5) is always SPOTLESSLY CLEAN! The beds are comfortable and have nice bedding! We love the rustic decor and enjoy the cute country style kitchen where we cook our free breakfast provided by the owner Skip! The owner and staff including their pet Labrador are friendly helpful and just all around nice people! It is like seeing family every year! If you like camping country living or just want a quite place to stay than this is the place for Families and couples! We do stay in the off season but it is still nice to see the large gazebo decorated for Christmas as well as the cabins! The hiking trails are nice and while there as been some construction across the lake it is not as loud as some have mentioned in their reviews. I will continue to stay at Five points Lake Hamilton every year because it is a wonderful place to vist!

My husband took me to this great place for my birthday. Skip was so helpful and a delight to meet. There was absolutely NO noise. The cabins were rustic yet modern. My parents are going for their anniversary. THANKS SKIP!

We spent 5 nights in the small one bedroom cabin and loved every second. The owner was very helpful and the cabins were clean, private, and the area was just beautiful. We we able to keep our boat in a slip just a few feet from our cabin. Thank you Skip for everything. We loved our stay and will return every chance we get.
