Inn Britannia  

Voted "Most Elegant" in 2004, Inn Britannia is a beautifully restored 1830 sea captain's home on the gorgeous midcoast of Maine. Each of the 7 lovely guest rooms has a private bath and is air conditioned. We have over 5 acres of beautiful woods and English gardens, and guests can stroll down a private lane to Penoscot Bay. We serve an award-winning bountiful multi-course gourmet breakfast that has been voted "Best Breakfast in New England." Guests can also enjoy complimentary home baked cookies, a nice glass of sherry or a complimentary glass of wine in the evening. We have one pet friendly room, the London. The pet fee is $25. Innkeeper pets do not reside in the inn, but do love to visit with guests. We are a perfect location for some of Maine's most popular destinations: Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park are about an hour's drive north; Rockland, home to the "Lobster Festival" is an hour's drive to the south.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations outside of 2 weeks of scheduled arrival date the deposit is refunded less a $25 fee. No refunds for cancellations within2 weeks of arriv

Breakfast: Our multi-course breakfasts are gourmet, featuring fresh eggs from our own hens. We alternate between a savory or a sweet entre each day, accompanied by breakfast meats for those who want them, fresh baked breads & pastries, fresh seasonal fruit.

Driving Directions: I-95 N, to exit 113 in Augusta. This will put you on Route 3. Stay on Route 3 to Belfast (about an hour's drive). Route 3 merges with Route 1. Take Route 1 N, go over the Belfast Bridge. Inn Britannia is about 6 miles from the bridge. We are on the right hand side (water side) of the road. Or, take Coastal Route 1 N, which you will pick up just outside of Portland off of the interstate. Route 1 can be up to a 3 hours drive, depending on traffic.

Local Area Attractions: Penobscot Marine Museum, Belfast Harbor (offes sailing cruises), Antiques shops, flea markets, fresh lobster at various lobster pounds.

Onsite Activities: We offer backgammon, cribbage, darts, chess, scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, DVD and VCR movies, etc in our on-site game room.
