Within minutes you can drive to fresh water ponds, First Encounter Beach on the Bay, National Seashore Park’s famed Coast Guard Beach on the ocean, Fort Hill Nature Trails, Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary and the Cape Cod Rail Trail. The Night Heron is located 2.5 miles from National Seashore ocean beaches and 1.5 miles from Cape Cod Bay beaches and fresh water ponds. The Cottage is 2 miles from National Seashore. There are 10 public beaches in Eastham. Ocean surfing is only minutes away, as is deep sea fishing, Cape Cod Rail Trail biking, nature trail hiking, prime golfing and the Audubon Bird Sanctuary at Wellfleet Bay. Forty minutes down the road, in Provincetown, you can go aboard the greatest whale-watching fleet and explore a real pirates’ treasure museum, all in the same day and on the same wharf!
