Wisteria is located in the heart of the historic district on tree canopied Fifth Avenue at Seventh Street. It was built in 1900 of cypress and heart pine for one of Laurel's founding fathers, Silas Gardiner, an owner of Eastman - Gardiner Lumber Co. Wisteria is one of the first and finest homes built on Fifth Avenue and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a pivotal structure. Wisteria was included in an article in Mississippi Magazine, Nov. / Dec. 2004.
