ReviewsBed & Breafast Extraordinaire! Date of Stay: 2008-06-01 I needed a spot for one night in Omaha, near the airport. I was tired of the hotel experience but didn’t think I’d find a B&B I could logically afford on a routine business budget. Oh, me of little faith! The Cornerstone Mansion is well-placed in internet search engines, and popped right up. I spoke with Mark when I called, and clearly indicated I needed something on the bottom end of the expense scale. He offered “The Garden Room,” and one night’s stay was, price-wise, truly comparable with anything at any one of the standard hotel chains. Quality-wise, it far exceeded anything I could’ve hoped for. When I got there, the room was ready and waiting. I learned “The Garden Room” had been the original maid’s quarters . . . small, cozy, spotless, a sweet and cozy. Julie met me at the door and made me feel right at home. And, oh, wouldn’t I have loved to be at home in a place like The Cornerstone! Well-appointed with period furniture, a stairwell right out of a movie set, and ambiance that enveloped me as soon as I entered, and stayed with me ‘til the moment I regretfully left my key in the hallway . . . along with a “Thank You” to Mark and Julie, the proprietors. I peeked into the other open rooms. Decorated beautifully, they were roomy and appointed for romance, and couples. This is THE place to stay in Omaha, in my book. The heck with the hotels . . . drop your bags, and your weary body, in one of the rooms at The Cornerstone, and enjoy a brief respite back into an earlier era! And, oh, the breakfast was fantastic, too! Ratings (1=Poor; 5=Excellent) Rooms: 5 Facilities: 5 Service: 5 Value: 5 Overall: 5 These reviews are not the opinions of Pillows and Pancakes |
