Abigail Adams' Bed & Breakfast is a delightful country style inn located on historic Jackson Street, just 100 feet from the nicest beaches in Cape May and less than a block from Cape May's Victorian Washington Street Mall. This charming cottage overlooking the beach is perfectly situated to afford you easy access to all of Cape May's pleasures and treasures.
Built in 1892 by Stephen Decatur Button, Abigail Adams is one of the famous "Seven Sisters" of Cape May. The "Seven Sisters" are seven identical Italian Renaissance style cottages built, as the legend goes, for the seven beloved daughters of a wealthy Cape May builder. They were built on the site of the old Atlantic Hotel that burned down in the Great Fire of 1878. The seven charming houses form an "L" shape with the fronts of the houses facing Atlantic Terrace and the beach.

From the front porch of Abigail Adams you can see waves crashing on the shore, fishing boats anchored in the distance, and brightly colored beach umbrellas dotting the white sandy beaches. We often see families of dolphins leaping and diving as they follow their "dinner" as it makes its way up the coast.

Our decor is country Victorian and informal; The rooms are bright and breezy, furnished in cheery chintzes, country pine antiques, handmade quilts and lacy curtains at the windows. From most of the windows you can see views of the ocean, feel the breezes as they ruffle the curtains and hear the lapping of the waves on the sand.
