Immerse yourself in an atmosphere of luxurious comfort at our inn while enjoying the charm of the "Biltmore Era" along with all that Asheville and the surrounding area has to offer. We have seven uniquely decorated guest rooms; six are in the main house, which was built circa 1899 in the English Shingle style. We also have one private suite in the original Carriage House. Dine at your leisure from 8:30am-9:30am in our charming dining room furnished with individual tables for two and set with antique china and silver by the fireside. Peter and Lori White, the new owners of the Black Walnut Inn, invite you to sample their gourmet breakfasts. A scrumptious Tea is served every afternoon complimented by wine and cheese. Peter and Lori are previously from the Island of Martha's Vineyard, where they owned and operated the Old Stone Bakery for twenty-nine years, and recently of Tequesta Florida, as the owners of the Cakery, an extraordinary bakery and exquisite tea room. They bring to Asheville over a half a century of culinary experience to make your stay at the Black Walnut unforgettable. The supervising architect of the Biltmore Estate, Richard Sharp-Smith, built this magnificent home. It is on the Historic Register and is conveniently located in the heart of the Montford historic district. The Black Walnut is only a short walk to Asheville's downtown shops, galleries, and restaurants. Our home is set on 3/4 of an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens featuring a tiered Koi pond with waterfalls. |
