In the 1780's Ezekiel & Susannah Baird came from New Jersey and settled in what is now Valle Crucis, NC just south of Boone. They were the second family to move in this area and they built what is now the Baird House B & B, the oldest home in the county,along the banks of the Watauga River. 4 rooms are located in the main house & 3 are in the Carriage House, just 35 paces from the main house.All rooms have queen beds, cable tv and some with fireplaces & whirlpool tubs. Wireless internet on site.
