The Brickhouse Inn Bed and Breakfast  

Located in the heart of historic Gettysburg, the Brickhouse Inn Bed and Breakfast (8 rooms) and the adjacent Welty House (5 rooms) are perfect bases for walks to shops and restaurants. You are only a few minutes from Lincoln Square in the town center, and the National Battlefield Park is virtually at your doorstep.

The historic Welty House was built in c.1830 by Solomon Welty, and was in the thick of fighting during the Battle of Gettysburg - its walls still bear the scars of bullets. Although the house has been enlarged, it can be recognized (nearest on the right) in the photo on the right, showing the procession in which President Lincoln rode to the cemetery to deliver his celebrated Address.

Driving Directions: From the Baltimore area/BWI Airport - Estimated travel time 1 ½ hours. Leaving the airport follow signs for Baltimore/Washington Parkway North to Rt. 695 West towards Towson. Follow Rt. 695 to Exit 19, Rt. 795 West. Stay on Rt. 795 until it ends and follow signs for Rt. 140/Westminster. Continue on Rt. 140 through Westminster. Take exit for Rt. 97 North/Gettysburg. Once in Gettysburg go through first traffic light. You will then pass the Inn on your right making next right onto Locust Ave. Make first right into the alley. The Brickhouse Inn parking is the second lot on the right.

From Route 81 and points North - From Rt. 81 exit to Rt. 581. From Rt. 581 exit onto Rt. 15 South/Gettysburg. Follow directions from Rt. 15 above (see Philadelphia and points East)
